Araki’s attitude toward bondage can be believed or not: “Kinbaku [rope-tying] is markedly different from bondage,” he once said. “I only tie up the body of a woman because I know I cannot bind her soul. Only a physical part of her can be bound. For me it is an equivalent to embracing.”
Very reminiscent of Bridgette Harrington’s comment about the rope being an extension of the arm.
